And we are off to day three. Reservations for Brunch seemed busy, some of the restaurants we closed downtown on Sunday. We started the day at Los Avages. Fun fresh Mexican fare to salsa music and quite a comprehensive wine list. We especially liked the watermelon salad!

We caught „Wild Rivers“ at the Jam Pad on our way in and the listened to most of „Blu DeTiger‘s“ set. She is fun to watch playing the base and I have seen her on YouTube before.

Fun set! From here I wanted to check out Irish singer Foy Vance. „Foy has headlined globally to sell-out crowds and splits his time between London and the Scottish Highlands with his family.“ Very interesting and fun set. Thoughtful lyrics.

Off to Michael Franti & Spearhead. Always fun! „Summertime is in our hands“,“ „Life is better with you,“ „Believer,“ and „Don’t give up.“ Several „baths in the audience“ and lots of children on stage. He always leaves you uplifted, somehow. Be Human!

Splitting up now between „Tai Verdes“ (he apparently was also doing lost & found for a kid that was lost during the show) and „Alessia Cara.“ Per bio, „she uses pop music as a diary. Since catapulting to stardom with quintessential loner anthem “Here” in 2015, the singer/songwriter has matured alongside her audience, capturing the highs and lows of adolescence and young adulthood with camera-like clarity.“ Fun set indeed

Tai Verdes – per bio, „was an essential worker three months into the COVID-19 pandemic with a 9-to-5 job at an LA Verizon Wireless store. Now he has one of the biggest viral hits in the US, hailed by The New York Times as one of the “Best Songs of 2020.”

Bounced over to see Pitbull. Amazing energy and packed house. Great message on hard work vs. instant gratification for the young folk 🙂 Then back to the 80s – his favorite decade! „Pitbull invites disruption on a global scale as a GRAMMY®-winning independent international superstar, education advocate, business entrepreneur and motivational speaker.“
Next up Vance Joy back at the main Jan Cellar stage. Per bio: „You don’t sell over two million copies of your debut album without some serious hard work, and Australian singer/songwriter Vance Joy has never been shy of major elbow grease.“

Amazing closing act by Pink. Covers of some „Bad Ass Women“ with Bishop Briggs „The River“, Gwen Stefani‘s „I‘m just a girl,“ and a moving tribute to Taylor Hawkins. Her daughter joined her for one song! Really cool dance numbers as a flying solo over the audience as an exit. What a night!

And we closed the night at Tarla’s again. Really yummy lamb shank! Smart business to stay open late for Bottlerock-traffic.
