Checking off a bucket list item, I am off to Coachella in Palm Springs. Lady Gaga, Green Day, and Benson Boone are on my „catch up to see“ list. I had seen Lady Gaga with Tony Bennett in Vegas years back but that was a very different setting.
The flight out of SFO was uneventful as we like it. Palm Springs is sleepy on a Thursday night when checking into the Dunes Hotel. After dinner at Desert Moon – a Creme Brulet to die for according to the next table – I am taking the comment on sleepiness back – there is a fun market down Main Street.
Friday – Day 1 of Coachella
Brunch at Lulu‘s, bypassing the „Husband Day Care“ wine bar while doing some light shopping, we leave the hotel at 1:38 and arrive at the Palm Springs Tennis Club for will call around 2:35ish. Your‘s Truly lost his VIP Parking tickets, which means a detour of about an hour or so to pick up new ones. Well, you live you learn.
The GoGo‘d were fun and a cool reminder of my youth 🙂 But the first killer surprise was the stage presence and talent of Benson Boone! Like a young Freddy Mercury. Out of this world.
