The Opera Garnier in Paris is probably one of my favorite buildings for events in the world. It’s classic style feels unrivaled. I found myself in Paris on a Monday during a business trip, the demise of the gods at Wagner’s Ring in Berlin fresh in my mind.
The prior evening I lucked out with a front row ticket for the ballet Mayerling becoming available online. Who says cell phones in bed are bad?
What an experience. I love Liszt to begin with, but combined with incredible dancing depicting the story of the apparent murder-suicide of Rudolf, Crown Prince of Austria, it made a perfect evening.

I closed the night at the Cafe de la Paix, right across the opera. It’s Paris, of course OpenTable allows reservations at 10:30 pm. Really nice, classy ambience. My Manhattan is great and the food quite amazing. Foie Gras to start with and a really well prepared Scottish Salmon feel like the right choice.

Beautiful photos ❤️. You did luck out!!!
